Connecticut Preparing for a Bright Future in Manufacturing
Fairfield, Conn, January 30, 2018 – According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly one in nine Connecticut workers is employed at one of more than 4,700 manufacturing companies that call Connecticut home. Manufacturing sectors serviced here run the gambit from aerospace, submarines, defense, biomedical, power and other advanced industries.
Helping to ensure students are prepared to meet the future needs of these industrial sectors is Housatonic Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. As part of its manufacturing curriculum, the Center trains tomorrow’s leaders of Connecticut’s manufacturing workforce on the skills needed to compete for innovative and rewarding careers where they can expect to earn annual salaries of $35-$40k.
