PRESS RELEASE: Statement By The Bigelow Family On The Passing Of Lori Bigelow
February 25, 2020 Fairfield, CT – The Bigelow family shares the news of third-generation former Co-President Lori Sue Bigelow’s peaceful passing on February 24, 2020.
For 35 years, Lori worked at Bigelow Tea where she became renowned for her gift in creating some of the most flavorful and successful teas in the company’s portfolio. In addition to her enormous impact on the family’s business which included playing an instrumental part in the Bigelow family’s purchase of the Charleston Tea Garden in South Carolina in 2003, Lori was also a valued member of the USA and Canadian Tea Associations for many years before retiring as Co-President in 2006.
"It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of my sister, Lori Bigelow,” says president and CEO Cindi Bigelow. “Lori was beloved for so many reasons, not the least of which was her amazing creativity, her warmth, her nurturing nature, her wonderful sense of humor, and her passion and knowledge about tea which is now her legacy. She shared all of these wonderful qualities with those lucky enough to know and love her. Lori will be missed by all of us.”
